Prosecution for irregular appointment of doctors

Governor Syed Sibtey Razi today ordered prosecution of senior officials for their alleged involvement in irregular appointments of ayurvedic, yoga, naturopathy, unani, sidha and homeopathy (Ayush) doctors.

They will be booked under different sections of Indian Penal Code and Criminal Procedure Code.

Ranchi district’s Ayush officer Amareshwar Sahay, homeopathic medical officer Jyotish Chandra Singh, Chaibasa’s Government Ayurvedic Medical College principal Ravindra Rai, Koderma district’s homeopathic medical officer Mukesh Chandra Kishore and Sahay’s driver Kishori allegedly accepted bribes when appointing Ayush doctors on contract basis.

Prosecution sanction has also been granted against Giridih district’s building construction division executive engineer Shiv Narayan Jha. He was caught on May 13 while accepting Rs 23,000 as bribe.

Departmental proceedings will also be initiated against Dhanbad’s land acquisition deputy collector Arvind Ballabh Choube for his alleged acts of omission and commission in the capacity of the circle officer of Gandey Block in Giridih district.

Road construction department’s suspended executive engineer Ashok Prasad Sah, too, will have to face departmental proceedings, for his alleged acts of omission and commission in Chaibasa district.

Prosecution sanction has also been granted against former BDO of Dharhara block in Munger district of Bihar, Madan Mohan Jaysawal for making excess payments with intent to embezzle the money will constructing a well.
