Patna: 18 born blind in arsenic affected blocks of Bhojpur: Overall 18 children in arsenic affected areas of Bhojpur district were born blind in the last 3 months as stated by Nand Kishore Yadav, Bihar Health Minister.

The actual cause leading to blindness among these children is yet to be discovered but the health department officials are in constant touch with ophthalmologists.

The arsenic affected areas in Bihar include Bhojpur, Vaishali, Buxar, Samastipur, Bhagalpur, Katihar, Munger, Saran, Darbhanga, Khagaria, and Patna.

Diseases associated with these districts include cancer of intestine, blindness, kidney, liver, bladder, and bone deformity, gangrene and skin problems.
